We have worship on Sunday mornings beginning at 10:55 a.m. with announcements. It is a relaxed traditional worship service with piano and organ music.
We have Sunday School for adults at 9:45. Children are invited to be a part of the 10:55 a.m. worship service, including our “Children’s Message”. Following this special time for the kids, children ages 4 through 5th grade may go if they wish to children's church in the church library for a brief Bible lesson, activity or craft; younger children may go to the nursery or stay in worship. We have other small group opportunities for all ages on a weekly and monthly basis.
Yes, we have safe, responsible care for our children. Child care is available for our 10:55 a.m.worship. We have two professional child care providers, CPR Certified. Many of the families choose to have the children remain in the sanctuary with them.
Children of all ages are always welcome at all worship experiences at Ghent. Our Sunday services feature a short message especially for children. Following the "Children's Message", children ages 4 through 5th grade may to go if they wish to children's church in the church library for a brief Bible lesson, activity or craft; younger children may go to the nursery or stay in the sanctuary.
Dress in a manner that is comfortable for you. At worship services, as well as at all other church functions, you will find people who are dressed casually and people who “dress up”.
Absolutely. At Ghent we know that no one is perfect, so everyone is welcome to come and learn of the grace, love, mercy and forgiveness that God offers us.
We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month. You do not have to be a member of this church or the United Methodist Church to receive communion. All who seek to lead a life following the way of Christ are welcome to the Lord’s Table. Children may receive Communion even prior to Confirmation. Some children may not want to receive communion. You may still bring them forward. The pastor will offer a blessing on the child rather than give communion.
